So what does every business woman really need? Most women who are working in a business capacity carry laptops, just like their male counterparts. Unfortunately, until recently women's briefcases were mere copies of the male version: black, wheeled, ballistic nylon, no place for lipstick. Pda, cell phone. Yes, there was an occasional new feminine color version, but for the most part, there lacked any design sense or accommodation for women's needs. So, women carried their laptops in the male-version laptop case, and their handbags, and whatever else they needed. Until now! A number of laptop case manufacturers are finally realizing that women are a major buying force and have begun to accommodate the unique needs of the female business professional. Here are a few of my personal favorites.

Bramble & Brown a division of Antler Luggage has recently launched an incredible collection of women's business cases for the business professional. Bramble and Brown is new in the United States, but is recognized across the pond as a major and successful brand. The Bramble and Brown Greenwich Single Compartment Briefcase is the perfect example of business case meets style. This is a women's laptop case that not only accommodates a laptop up to 14", and also has file pockets, but most importantly, this Bramble and Brown women's laptop case is also stylish enough to double as a women's handbag. This is a beautiful leather handbag and is offered in stylish colors: hot pink, light gray and basic black. Check out the styling of this women's laptop case...it looks more like a fine women's leather handbag than a laptop case. I'd be proud to carry this as either a women's business case or as a handbag.

Knomo is another brand that recognizes the importance of style in women's briefcases. Knomo has been long associated with their distinctive Bloomsbury style... a quilt-like look for their women's laptop cases. However, Knomo has recently launched the Knomo Berkeley collection, which like Bramble and Brown, is targeted for the fashion conscience executive woman. The Knomo Berkley collection is a beautiful case for women and perfectly styled for an executive.

Last, but not least is the Brera from Lodis Leather. I actually bought this case for a friend of mine who has broken through the ranks and is now a very high-ranking corporate executive in publishing. This Lodis Brera has rapidly become her favorite laptop case. It has beautiful styling, is feminine and holds up to a 15" laptop. I think it's the fine leather and the numerous file pockets, plus all the handy little accessory pockets that make a difference. The Lodis Brera is another of the classic styling that women executives are searching for and a wonderful way to carry the business and personal essentials.
