Why do most Black women straighten their hair as oppose to keeping it natural and nappy?
If black women were proud of being black wouldn't they be less inclined to copy the same straight hair texture of white people.
If white people were proud of being white wouldn't they be less inclined to lay in a tanning bed to get their skin darker? Its just what people like. Some white people want to be tan and some black women want their hair straight. And most black women find their hair easier to manage when its flat ironed straight.
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in women if the relatively less aggressive skin cancer is excluded from counting. Breast cancer accounts for about 32 percent of all cancer diagnosed in women.
It has been noticed that obesity augments the risk of breast cancer only among postmenopausal women who do not use menopausal hormones. However, there is no significant difference in breast cancer risk between obese women and women of a healthy weight if women belonging to both categories use menopausal hormones.
During puberty in males, as a temporary condition, excess breast tissue develops which usually subsides in 1 to 3 years. However, in some cases, the enlargement of the male breast does not subside and remains permanent. This results in the male breast resembling a female breast.
Unfortunately, women who consume a great deal of black tea do not appear to be protected from the onset of breast cancer. Since black tea is more popular in Western nations than green tea, such news can be disappointing. But the fact that green tea's popularity is gaining strength in the West means that Western women could enjoy the same breast cancer protection that green tea drinkers in the Far East have enjoyed for years.
Progesterone, secreted by the ovaries, is essential to the term of a pregnancy. Mifepristone, also called RU486, is designed to abort pregnancy in the first trimester by shutting down the secretion of progesterone and ending the viability of the fetus. In smaller doses, it is also an emergency contraceptive.
The underlying cause of most is unclear. However, some risk factors have been identified, many of which suggest that the female hormone estrogen is an important factor in the development and progress of the disease. It is known that women who have their first menstrual period before age 11, or who have a late menopause, seem to be at increased risk of developing this cancer, probably because they are exposed to high levels of estrogen for longer.
Obesity has been shown to have a clear relationship with some cancers, but not with others. For instance, there does not appear to be any correlation between overweight and prostate cancer in men. Or sometimes, the relation is clear, but the reasons aren't.
Despite the exact causes of breast cancer being unknown, there are many resources explaining and suggesting how a woman might prevent it. While much of this literature is purely speculation, there are precautions all women can take including maintaining a healthy body weight. Because overweight women have a higher chance of developing breast cancer, it is a good idea to lose the fat.
Carotenoids are powerful antioxidants that protect against cancer, and these are found in a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Researchers at New York University compared blood samples from 270 women who subsequently developed breast cancer to samples taken from 270 women who did not. They found that women with the lowest levels of carotenoids had twice the risk of breast cancer as found in those with the highest levels.
