Why are my toes all of a sudden starting to itch and burn around my nails to the point where my joints hurt?
I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes 2 weeks ago. I have been testing my blood and regulating my diet and have now noticed that my toes are itching and burning uncontrollably to the point where my toe joints hurt when I bend them. What the heck is going on?
you might have athletes foot or a fungus infection, they sell medication to get rid of these type of stuff in drug stores. It sounds more like a fungal thing but you said you had diabetes so you might want to call up your doc to ask if they think it's anything to worry about.

Kidney stones form when minerals normally diluted in your urine begin to crystallize within your kidneys. Gout is a version of arthritis that usually affects your big toe joint, ankles or wrists. Kidney disease is also known as renal disease or chronic renal failure. A urinary tract infection can also be referred to as a bladder infection, because although any urinary tract organs can be affected, they are most common in the bladder.
Causes: - Kidney stones can form due to other health conditions such as gout and inflammatory bowel disease. Gout occurs when your body doesn't rid itself of uric acid, and it accumulates as crystals around your joints. Females are more apt to visit a physician more often than men, and gout can be detected early. Men do not visit physicians as often and are therefore diagnosed later in the disease. They often have worse cases than do females.
Symptoms: - There are no symptoms of a stone while it's still in the kidney, but once it begins its journey through the urethra to the bladder, typical symptoms include back and side pain that increases in intensity, cloudy or bloody urine and nausea. Gout symptoms include severe joint pain accompanied by inflammation and redness. The most common site for gout is the joint of the big toe on the foot--this is also called pedigree when the toe is affected by the gout arthritis. Knees, wrists and fingers as well as elbows and ankles are also common areas for gout. Fast onset of pain as well as warmth and swelling and a red color with tenderness of the area are all symptoms of gout attacks. The attacks can come and go in a few hours or last days at a time.
Diagnosis: - Imaging tests such as CT scans and ultrasound are helpful in diagnosing kidney stones. Gout can be confirmed using joint fluid and blood tests. A sterile syringe and needle are used to aspirate fluid from the inflamed area, and the fluid is analyzed for uric acid content and crystals or infection. Symptoms can be treated without actually having to participate in the arthrocentesis test.
Treatment: - Most kidney stones pass through the urinary tract with no treatment, but larger ones may need to be broken apart with shock wave treatment or surgery. Medications are usually prescribed for gout, including no steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and colchicines. Common symptoms of kidney disease include excessive urinating and water consumption, weight loss and vomiting.
Herbs can be used to prevent the buildup of certain chemicals, acids or compounds in the body. Because many kidney stones are often composed of calcium, herbs that help reduce excess calcium in the urinary tract are particularly effective. Cranberries and rose hips have been found effective in reducing excess calcium.
Complications: - The biggest concern regarding kidney stones is size. If a stone becomes too large, it could block the flow of urine or damage the kidney. Left untreated, gout can lead to kidney stones and recurrent gout.
