Ode to Summer

It’s almost summer time,
Relaxing in the sun’s shine,
Oh everything thing is fine,
when it is summer time.

Everything is so cool,
when your rafting in the pool,
I get a summer’s tan,
and wave my colorful fan.

I think of the beautiful hills,
and they give me the chills,
oh the beautiful sight,
as I watch through the night.

When it comes to May,
it is only a few days,
until Summer starts,
oh that fulfills my heart.

I cant wait to wear my flip-flops,
oh it is the icing on top,
Pink and Purple and Blue,
I have White and Green ones too.

The sand, the beach, the ocean,
it is like a movie in motion,
I think of all the ways,
that I could take the waves.

It is almost Spring,
as I gladly sing,
Summer is almost here,
now help me cheer.

It's pretty good. Just try to make it flow more. Sure, it rhymes, but that isn't the whole point of poems.

I don't think the flip flop thing should be included. Just a hint.

Most weddings abroad are only small and generally only close family/friends attend. Therefore most couples will have a wedding reception for their other family and friends once they return. Why not carry on the theme for your wedding reception? Consider having a beach themed wedding reception.

First thing to think about is your wedding stationery. There are many beach themed wedding invitations out there, so why not shop around to find your favorite? Some wedding invitations will include pictures or illustrations of beaches and palm trees. Some might include embellishments such as seashells.

The venue can be decorated with balloons in the shape of palm trees. Maybe your guests can come in grass skirts, bikinis or Hawaiian shirts to carry on the beach theme and add a bit of fun. You could perhaps get your venue decorators to place beach balls around.

Centerpieces could be glass jars filled with seashells and candles. Or maybe fill them with lemons and limes to add a bright color contrast. Scatter sea blue swarovski crystals, dyed rose petals or confetti on your wedding reception tables.

Consider brightly colored wedding flowers, maybe mix and match different colors to give your venue that tropical theme. You might even be able to hire out fake palm trees.

Food wise you could consider local dishes from your country of marriage. Contact several local caterers to get the best price.

Beach themed wedding favors such as flip-flop candles are available. Others include seashell picture frames, beach themed coasters, boat shaped tea light holders, cruise ship key-rings and seashell gel candles.

After the wedding have thank you cards printed with a photo of the happy couple on a beach. You could use one of the snaps taken by yourself on your honeymoon. Or you could ask your wedding photographer to take some photos of you posed on the beach.
