Looking for some wardrobe advice while visiting Italy next week.?

Will be in Rome, Bologna and Milan over 6 days beginning next week, before we head off to family in Greece. Although this is our first visit to Italy, it is not our first visit overseas. I am from Florida and I learned many years ago, you DO NOT dress the same when visiting Greece or other countries, as you do in Florida. Talk about sticking out like a sore thumb!! Yikes...it was an eye opener my first trip abroad!

Would love any women's style tips from any Italian ladies out there. I prefer the classics and always want to look "smart"! Comfortable shoes are always a must. What are the ladies wearing this summer/fall? Capris were big with the men last season in Greece, but not the ladies; has that changed? It is still quite hot in Florida but appears to be cooling in Italy. How is the weather presently? Thanks for any help!!

Hi, I'm a wardrobe consultant and personal shopper living in South Florida. Several months ago I moved back after having lived in Italy for more than 3 years. You're right to realize that Europeans do not dress as we do here in Florida. No bright, screaming colors or ice cream pastels, particularly past August. Since you'll be traveling to several places, you might consider a few knit pieces, preferably in black. If you have a skirt that hits around the knee, you can wear sandals during the day and heels in the evening. (Be careful in your heels, the old streets can be treacherous! You learn to walk on tip toes after a while!) If you take knit pieces you won't have to worry about your clothes being wrinkled and you can wear the same things repeatedly if needed. Perhaps you could consider the black knit skirt, some black pants, whether they are a bit cropped, long and flowing, like a palazzo pant, or narrow, like a cigarette pant... all classic pieces. For tops, you might opt for thin, light weight knits or tees. (I practially lived in Three Dot 3/4 sleeve tees when I was there.) This is where you can bring in some color that is complimentary to your skin tone. Definitely pack a black cashmere sweater (even in a tropical weight) and a good black blazer. You may be chilled in the evenings in Milano or Bologna, or need something to keep you warm on the plane. The blazer will add polish to any of your ensembles as well. Jeans are acceptable almost anywhere, save for the Vatican. Don't let your knees show there, either! Accessorize wisely. You might even want to buy some of the gorgeous scarves on the streets or in the markets and wear them while you travel. Aramone in Nottingham has a stylish interior with dark woods and large leather chairs that is perfect for that romantic evening before the theatre and with a 3 course pre theatre set menu for under £12 you are going to look like you are splashing out (but without it costing a fortune). Amarone is a truly versatile Italian restaurant that caters for everyone. It has the ability to hold large parties, has themed nights, holds a late license and has a great menu along with a top wine and cocktails list. This Italian restaurant is great; no matter what you are looking for Amarone fits the bill.

So whether you are looking for that romantic night out sharing spaghetti and meatballs, holding that crazy (and drunken) works party or just out for an evening meal then hey pesto! There is an Italian restaurant in Nottingham that will suit what you are looking for.
