One of the world's famous classic cars is the Volkswagen Beetle. For over 70 years it has been around and it has been recognized as an automobiles icon. There is possibility to find an excellent used Volkswagen that is 40 years old rather than a brand new one.
The Volkswagen has been reestablished the Beetle's production due to its popularity. Today you can still purchase a new VW Beetle, even though a modern version of the old classic Beetle.
The Volkswagen Beetle is produced in 1938. Adolf Hitler is the original idea maker of the production of this classic car. He wished for a "people's vehicle" that is mass produced to solve the post WW1 joblessness issue. As a result, in the early 30's he began a car making project for every German to drive and then Volkswagen started to produce the Beetle. "Volkswagen" means "people's vehicle" in German.
Ferdinand Porsche is the man behind the original design of the Volkswagen Beetle. He also became well-known for the magnificent "Porsche" brand of cars all over the world. Based on the basic specifications from Hitler, Porsche designed a car with rear engine and air cooled flat four cylinder engine. Hitler wanted the car to be cheap and affordable for every German to buy, He also wanted the car that has the speed at least 42 mpg and it can take in passengers for 2 adults and 3 kids.
The VW Beetle established itself as a classic car for over the rest of the century. It has been built for hundreds of thousands. Reliability, inexpensive price, simple motoring and lasted for good is the advantages that the car has to offer.
The Beetle was well known since it is proven to be bombproof. There was a film showed that it can deliberately drive off the top of a steep sand dune. Just to show how strong it was, it rolled over to the bottom and then drove off once more.
Even today it is fairly probable to purchase an excellent used Volkwagen Beetle in great condition. A good used Volkswagen Beetle has a strong market. There are numerous VW Beetle owners who have their Beetle restored to its original classic condition, there are also car clubs based merely around Volkswagen Beetle and the chassis and the frame is even the basis of many other hand built cars.
