Suggestions for 13 year old son with ADD?
My son is now in the 8th grade. He is 6'2, 204 lbs and size 14 mens shoe. He has grown faster than his motor skills can keep up. Sports are pretty much out for him. He just doesn't have the desire to excel there. He basically likes to hang out with 2 or 3 key friends, not interested in making any more (which I think is difficult for him anyway - he is a bit immature and goofy for his age), and television, computer and video games are his only activities. He is an only child and definately reaching the teenage time when it is not real cool to do much with parents.
I really don't want him to suffer socially and I feel like he needs more interaction with the outside world. We live in a small town with not much in activities to choose from. Should I force him to have only so much "screen" time each day? And do I let him be a goof or try to make him stop? I don't want to do in his self-esteem. He struggles there already anyway.
My youngest has adhd/ld.
I found it best for all concerned to work on his social skills. He too, didn't have a lot of friends. Trying to force him to interact with others is counterproductive. I would speak with his doctor and see what he/she can suggest.
There are books for teenagers with ADD/ADHD that you should get from your library. Again, your doctor can help there.

With prices starting from as little as £20 to £30 it's a small price to pay for that added peace of mind that should your vehicle breakdown, you will have the backing of one of the UK's many motoring organisations to assist you in your time of need and possibly saving you what could a very expensive bill for the repair or recovery of your vehicle.
