Pneumatic cylinders are devised to convert compressed air power into mechanical energy. This mechanical energy then generates linear or rotary motion. So in this way the air cylinders functions as the actuator in the pneumatic system.

Generally pneumatic cylinders are made of a steel piston, a piston rod, a cylinder barrel and end covers. As compressed air moves into a pneumatic cylinder, it pushes the piston along the length of the cylinder. Compressed air or a spring, located at the rod end of the cylinder, pushes the piston back. Valves regulate the flow of compressed air to the cylinders.

Pneumatic cylinders have features that make it unique to use. Some of its features that really benefit are the speed with which it reacts swiftly. Pneumatic cylinders simple mechanism makes its usage very easy.

Actually the performance of pneumatic cylinders can be broadly categorized into single acting and double acting. A single acting generally is able to perform an activity in one single direction. A single acting usually requires air pressure on one side of piston flange and a spring to return to the position.

On the other hand a Double Acting Cylinders use the force in dual ways. They allow air pressure one for in stroke and one for outstroke. Generally pneumatic cylinders come in varied sizes; it all depends on the usage and the requirement.

While there are other types of cylinders like rotary cylinders, , impact cylinders and multiple- position, or opposed-thrust, cylinders. While a rotary cylinder fluid force is applied to generate circular motion.

While on the other hand impact cylinder is used for shearing or blanking tasks. So this way, every pneumatic cylinder is unique in its own way catering to various industrial needs and requirements.

Since the 1960s, New York designer, Betsey Johnson has rocked the fashion industry with her creativity and originality.  Born in Wethersfield, Connecticut, Betsey spent her childhood in dance classes that influenced her designs and are still evident in her works.  After high school, Johnson chose to attend the Pratt Institute, later graduating from Syracuse University as a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority.

Her fashion career officially began in 1964 when she won Mademoiselle magazine's "Guest Editor Contest."  Only one year later she was working as a top designer for Paraphernalia, a boutique housing the hottest London designers.  Her embellishment and unique character quickly grabbed attention as she created form-fitting fabrics, hippie inspired pieces, and sexy silhouettes.  She also jumped on board the "Youth Quake" fashion movement, joining Andy Warhol's underground scene and meeting up with John Cale, her now ex-husband, at The Velvet Underground.

In 1969, Betsey decided to branch out into retail, opening a boutique named Betsey Bunki Nini.  Alvin Duskin fell immediately in love with her store and offered her a job, which she accepted, traveling to and from New York when needed.  In the early 1970's she gained control of a clothing label, "Alley Cat," and through it she began to set a stylistic wave for rock n' roll with bohemian and ethnic styles.  As her name began to grow in the fashion industry, fellow designers soon began to take notice of her work, giving her the coveted Coty Award as the youngest designer to ever receive it. 

Betsey formed a partnership with Chantal Bacon in 1978 and started the Betsey Johnson Label.  Designing for herself gave her the ability to fully express her ideas, allowing her incomparable style and artistic talents to be finally set free.  They launched their first store in SoHo, and its success prompted their store to be one of the first located on Melrose Avenue.  Now, she is located in more than fifty stores worldwide, ranging from London to Japan.

Recently inducted into the Fashion Walk of Fame and given two lifetime achievement awards, one from the Signature Awards and the other from the Accessories Council, Betsey is known for doing cartwheels at the end of her shows to enliven the audience. She has designed outfits for celebrities like Courtney Love, Cyndi Lauper, Minnie Driver, and Lil' Kim.  Second to none, Betsey has survived breast cancer and owns a hotel in Mexico named Betseyville, proudly proclaiming her outlandish behavior and high-spirited attitude.

All little girls like to play "house!" That is all of them except the one in the song "I don't want to play house; it makes my mommy cry!" But, that is something completely different, not so? That is why all little girls need a Kidkraft Retro Kitchen and Refrigerator in pink.

I know it sounds like work, but with a little imagination and good toys she will learn all this without even knowing it. Play with her and let it all come natural in the line of play.

It stands to reason that the play kitchen you use has to be strong and it has to be big enough for more than one to play in at a time. You will not succeed in teaching her all this while playing if you have only a tiny little hole she has to play in!

The Renegade Sneaker for the Ultimate Scoring Machine

There was much hype with the previous Kobe Bryant signature shoes (including the Hyperdunk Series) that guys over at Nike wanted to outdo themselves by coming up with basketball shoes that perfectly befit the aggressive style of the former MVP.

Expected to be released on December 26, 2009 (release date varies for different locations), the Zoom Kobe 5 (or the ZK5) is unlike its predecessors. It actually looks more like a cross-training shoe than a basketball shoe. But the three-pronged Kobe trademark logo beneath the sole and on the tongue and Kobe signature at the back of the heel are unmistakable. The flywire technology that was a staple in other Kobe Bryant signature shoes appeared to be tweaked a bit, this time using a different upper material.

The Zoom Kobe 5 also features a full-length Zoom cushioning - a feature that was introduced in previous collections. This was probably done to increase comfort while the full-mesh tongue and upper are designed to increase breathability. As always, the Nike trademark "swoosh" appears on the side of the shoe.

Don't get fooled by its low-cut design as this shoe can actually support the wearer's toes and ankles. This remarkable sneaker is as good to use on the basketball court as it is on the streets. Overall, the design is way different from what the fans used to see on Kobe Bryant's signature basketball shoes. But it only goes to show that being different is not exactly a bad thing. It's all about individuality. And Kobe Bryant knows how to stand tall, being different from the rest.
