Wood mini blinds are one variety of wood blinds for covering doors and windows. The smaller increments of a narrow slate dimension, wood mini blinds are better able to control the amount of light coming into a room and the view seen through a window. Wood mini blinds provide light and privacy control within the room apart from giving it a beautiful look. They also provide a warm and cozy look to any room, whether it is the living room or the kitchen. Wood mini blinds are available in various colors and styles, in various shades and in several models. Most designers agree wood mini blinds are ideal for offices.
The most important things to consider when choosing wood mini blinds are appearance, privacy offered, light controlling ability, insulating value, and the ease of operation. Although mini blinds are available in vinyl and aluminum materials also, wood blinds are most preferred for their style and look despite being more expensive compared to the other types of mini blinds.
Wood mini blinds give a natural look to any room with a graceful charm. They can work much better than traditional curtains or shutters. They look pretty from both inside as well as from outside the window. In addition, wood mini blinds are good insulators from heat or cold unlike vinyl or aluminum mini blinds. Like their larger cousins, wood mini blinds are also available in two varieties of wood, Ramin and Bass, each with their own particular strengths.
Mini blinds are also available in faux wood. Faux-wood mini blinds are made of artificial materials but are designed to look just like real wood mini blinds. They are much less expensive than wood mini blinds. Faux-wood mini blinds can be used in rooms with high levels of humidity like bathrooms and kitchens because they don't tend to warp like blinds made of real wood. Faux-wood mini blinds are also very stain resistant and are easy to clean and maintain. Wood mini blinds can be custom ordered per a specific designer's requirements. They are easy to install and in most cases, installation services are provided by the manufacturers. They come with options like cordless operation and are becoming very fashionable in the home design world for their comfort and convenience.
Mini blinds provides detailed information about custom, discount, woven, and faux wood blinds, as well as wood mini blinds, wood vertical blinds, and more.

Heel Sandal
LI’s chairman of the billboards
In the ancient world, men seeking female companionship would walk along beaches following sandal prints with notches marked in a heel, since these were signs of ladies of the evening. The point: Advertising is the world’s second-oldest profession. Apocryphal or not, the story is certainly true that the oldest and most enduring forms of advertising are [...]

There's a long-overdue, new voice in the Western genre belonging to Jere D. James, an author destined to help revive the traditional Western and to help keep the Spirit of the West alive!
Early reviews on Jere D. James' first novel, Saving Tom Black, A Jake Silver Adventure (Moonlight Mesa Associates, Inc., 2009) are outstanding, and after reading this fine novel, it's absolutely obvious why.
Set mainly in Arizona in 1888, Saving Tom Black showcases a cast of Western characters that are truly memorable, from the adorable Betsy DuBonnet, a runaway from an Orphan Train who's searching for her mother, to Thomas Jefferson, a black porter who befriends the girl and assists in helping her disguise herself as a boy he names Tom Black, to a young, tough, newly appointed U.S. Deputy Marshal, Jake Silver. Their lives intertwine in unforgettable, remarkable ways. Add to this trio, a small cast of secondary, extremely well-drawn characters, and the makings of a terrific book are in order. And, as Shirley Johnson, Senior Reviewer for Midwest Book Review commented, even the animals take on captivating personalities
James does a brilliant job of pacing this story, and there's never a dull moment or a wasted word. He brings laughter, tenderness, tears, and bloodshed to the page with ease and remarkable skill. For those who like action, this book has plenty.
James weaves the story to follow Betsy DuBonnet as she heads West, armed only with incredible courage, in search of her mother. One of the early, extremely humorous scenes, occurs when Betsy, disguised as Tom Black, is endeavoring to buy a horse at a train stop in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with the assistance of Thomas Jefferson. One does not even need to know horses to fully enjoy the hysterical events that follow, and readers will never forget Betsy's first night on the trail after she meets U.S. Deputy Marshal Jake Silver.
One of the beauties of this story is that it is largely classic in style. Swearing is almost nonexistent other than a couple of "damns" and "hells." Sex and sexual innuendo are strictly kept to traditional Western standards, and in this case, LESS is truly MORE. This is a book that can be recommended to all ages (14 and up) without a qualm. Although the author does not include Jake Silver in every single chapter, he is never more than one chapter a way, and both Betsy and Jake are brought up in those chapters in which they are absent.
The setting is superbly drawn and accurate, and historical figures appear regularly or are alluded to, and the author skillfully weaves these historical characters and incidents into the narrative. This book is quite literally unforgettable.
The book has been reviewed by Midwest Book Review, Western Fiction Review, Marshall Trimble (Official Arizona State Historian) and Steve Hayes, screen writer and Western author. All give the book a solid, enthusiastic two thumbs up. Other reviews are expected shortly, including Roundup Magazine and American Cowboy.
Saving Tom Black is available from the publisher at www.moonlightmesaassociates.com, amazon, and book dealers.

flats/spikes for outdoor??
Do you have to buy seperate flats for outdoor track that are different from indoor track flats?? What kind would you suggest?? Right now i wear Saucony Mens kilkenny XC2 falts for the 50 and 300. What would be the best flats
http://www.espnshop.com/catalog/productdetail/model--80691~29461/supercat--home/mvpid--~0/cm--Cross+Sell/
those flats are fine for both indoor and out door track
just make sure the bottoms arn't plastic, which i think they are not....but some tracks don't let you use plastic bottom spikes on their tracks. good luck in the 50 and the 300!!!
I ran the Black Mountains Race in September 2000. It was my first Fell race, and it was pretty dumb to start with such a long one - 17 miles and around 5000 feet of ascent. Perhaps, having done a marathon that Spring and my first ultramarathon in August I felt it was manageable, but in the event it proved tougher than expected. Still, it was a memorable race!
John Darby is a great race organiser - at the registration in a hall in Llanbedr I was handed a map with a suggested route penned on it and all the checkpoints marked, and while there was no systematic kit-check I remember one chap, after admitting to having no whistle about his person, being promptly dispatched to Crickhowell to get one.
John gave a pre-race briefing along the lines of "don't follow me as I may get lost myself" then joined the ranks of the 60 or so runners for the start in a lane near the centre of Llanbedr.
After only a few hundred yards of road we were off onto a very steep farm track heading for Table Mountain and Pen Cerrig Calch (above) - I took it into my head to run the whole first ascent, which I just about did (perhaps a few brief hands-on-knees walk breaks) and I was pleased to reach the first summit not too far adrift of the pack. Big mistake. As I headed along the ridge I felt very low on energy, and realised I was still not recovered from that ultramarathon in America. Well, of course I wasn't, it had only been two or three weeks before and I wasn't used to that sort of mileage. I was slowing down further on Pen Allt Mawr (below) and finding the steep descents hard on the legs, even though they were short. I was also blistering on both feet, quite severely, as I was not then the owner of any fell shoes and was attempting the race in a pair of Saucony Stabils.
The long descent to the valley was arduous as I picked a bad line (mistake number two - stayed too long on the ridge) and the terrain across the valley floor was rough and draining. By the time I was ascending Pen Y Gadair I was walking and being overtaken by droves of runners - one of whom thought to enquire how I was, which proves I was looking a bit of a state (and at such an early stage in the race). Blisters were very painful and making any forward movement very tough.
The slope up to Pen Y Gadair from the North - we climbed up the steeper slope from picture right. Pic gives you an idea of the going underfoot.
After passing the check on Pen Y Gadair I was finished. I sat down on the hillside. Then I lied down for a few seconds. I had come to a complete stop. I drank my small bottle of energy drink, which was mistake number three. I picked myself up and headed onward, soon finding my stomach cramping up from the indigestible drink (I had trained with it, but under such duress my stomach was not behaving normally - it had completely shut down - I should have stuck to plain water). The descent to the river was very hard on the legs and the stomach gave me a lot of pain - I enjoyed the splash through the river though, and was still getting overtaken by other runners as I started the ascent of Chwarel Y Fan. This is an interesting sight, as all the runners use the fence posts and handholds on the way up - a most peculiar method of climbing it looks too. I joined in and found that the fence was a welcome releief from the legs-only efforts of the other ascents - at least you could trash another muscle group this time.
I don't remember the next check, but I do remember the next descent - athrough a maze of forestry tracks - each step was accompanied by a stabbing pain in my middle from the persistent stomach cramp - it got to be too much and I had to walk even on the downhills. I was in a really sorry state - totally drained and in total pain - but unbelievably I was still glad to be there, still in some sense having fun. I wonder about myself sometimes.
A friendly marshall at the bottom of the hill had a bottle of plain water which he was happy for me to swill down,so I managed to get some hydration. Next came a wooded ascent which I enjoyed in the company of three or four fellow runners, proving I was not quite in last place and still capable of a slow jog. As we came out of the woods I saw the last check and as I reached it I realised the only runners behind me were the real veterans - just everyone under 60 was back in Llanbedr by now. The last section from Crug mawr to the finish was interminable - endless stud-marked paths, fields, stiles and fences - then from a heavenly dell at the foot of the mountain with a beautiful babbling stream and sun glinting through the leaves, a draining final climb brought me to the finish. I felt elated - I mean really elated. The marshall at the finish didn't think much of my time (about 4.45 I think - 58th place out of 63 roughly). "What happened to you? Get lost?" he said, sounding a bit disgusted. I didn't care, as I had completed my first Fell Race, in the supremely beautiful Black Mountains.

Here are the black sandals:

I'm not sure if that would look tacky or not!
I like those sandals, but they were white when I looked, and I'd prefer them white with white shorts.

"Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming."
- Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Enterprises
If business opportunities are like bus, then be sure that there will be many who will want to board the buses. They will also face the eternal question 'What next'? The next step is to choose the type of business. The choices are many and the decision, well, as usual, always difficult to make.
Before opting for any type of business, it will augur well, if you understand the difference between each of the options.
Sole trader:
Sole trader is a person who carries out the trade/ business single handedly. He is the whole and soul of the business. Usually, there is no one to assist him; though in some cases he might keep an assistant or a helper.
The following are the distinguishing features of a sole trader:
1) He is responsible for the entire business. He is responsible for all the affairs pertaining to the business.
2) The law does not make any distinction between the owner and his business. In the eyes of the law, both the owner and his business are the same.
3) Since the law does not distinguish between the owner and his business, his liability is unlimited. For e.g. if the business goes bankrupt, the owner will have to cough money from his own assets and financial reserves to pay to the creditors and lenders.
4) The sole trader is also liable to pay for any legal compensation that might arise in the course of running the business. He cannot shrug his responsibilities. He will not be able to defend himself by saying that the act was committed by his business and not by him.
5) The sole trader has the final say as far as decision-making is concerned. He is not legally bound to listen to anyone. He may do whatever he deems to be fit.
6) Since he has the freedom to take all the decisions, he is also responsible for them. For e.g., There is a bread manufacturer, [who is also a sole trader], who introduces a new variety of bread, thinking that there is demand for this particular variety. If the product succeeds, he can take the credit. If the product fails and as a consequence he suffers losses, then he will be held for the losses. The buck starts as well as stops with him.
7) He keeps the entire profit earned by him. Similarly he also has to shoulder the entire burden of loss.
A sole trader has to maintain financial records that distinguish between money used for personal and business purpose. For e.g. if he sends a letter to his wife, the postal expenditure will be treated as personal. But if a letter is sent to a prospective customer, it will be treated as expenditure incurred for business purpose.
9) A sole entity might come to an end if the owner becomes bankrupt or has an untimely demise, with no one to look after the business.
Limited company:
A limited company is a separate entity and is also either registered or incorporated under the laws of the country in which it is situated. It is a separate person in the eyes of the law.
The following are the distinguishing features of a limited company:
1) Since a limited company is a separate person, it can hire 'employees'. These employees are responsible for running of the company. These employees can be the directors of the company, the secretary as well as the staff including the receptionist!
2) For setting up a limited company, most of the countries require registration. Some countries also specify the minimum number of people that are required to start a limited company.
3) The laws of almost all the countries specify the use of the word 'limited ' or 'ltd' after the name of the company.
4) The finance for starting a limited company is raised by issuing shares. The people to whom the shares are issued are termed as shareholders. The shares cannot be issued to the general public unless it is a public limited company.
5) The liability of the shareholders is limited to the amount paid by them during the purchase of the shares. For e.g. if the company goes into debts, they are not liable to pay to the lenders and creditors from their own personal finance.
6) Similarly even the directors and other staffs are not responsible to pay. This is because the company is a separate entity.
7) The directors are responsible for the health of the company as well as its day-to-day affairs.
But if the company is held for any wrongdoing, the case will be filed against the company and not the directors. However, the directors are responsible for the way the company is run. If evidence of wrong- doings is found against the directors, cases can be field against them in the court of law.
9) The directors, in consultation with the shareholders, take the decisions pertaining to the company. Meetings such as AGMs [Annual General Meeting] are held to discuss about future strategies and growth plans.
10) The profits earned by the company can be distributed among shareholders as dividend. Alternatively, it can be also used for the expansion plans of the company.
11) No single person owns the company. It has a perpetual existence, which is not affected by the death of any shareholder or director.
Though there are many distinguishing factors the main difference between a sole trader and a limited company is that the law makes no distinction between a sole trader and his business, whereas a limited company is a separate entity in itself which can function very much like humans i.e. it can hire people, sue and get sued etc.

Fewer and fewer titles are being released on Sony's little slim wonder, and the ones that are cannot really stack up to the next-gen beasts. Black Bean has given it their best shot with SBK09, however, and the result is somewhat satisfying.
While it may lack the plethora of options and tweaks that the PC and Xbox versions call their own, SBK09 still managed to squeeze an awful lot from the PS2 architecture. Rider and bike models are animated well, with braking, acceleration and gearshifts being accurately portrayed on screen. The bike detail in particular has had a lot thrown into it and the finished product is a shiny reproduction of a little two-wheeled bullet.
Some attempt at a particle system has been included and road conditions also greatly influence the handling of a bike on the track. Speeding along in the rain has water being thrown up from the bike (along with the rider) in a semi-realistic manner. The handling has not been spared and this, along with the look of the bike and tracks, could account for the lack of detail in other areas.
Handling the bike is a chore at first but a total newbie will pick up the mechanics after five or so quick races. The independent braking takes a little getting used to and using the right analogue stick for braking and acceleration is the best way to wring a fast lap out of your rider.
There are challenges and unlocks included in SBK, as well as the obligatory Championship mode. Where the game falls short is in the bike setup, chucking out an extensive workshop in favour of a few easily-changed options. The background of tracks suffers from pixilation and lack of detail, presumably because the developers felt the resources could be better employed in keeping the gameplay tight.
SBK 2009 cannot compete with the next-gen heavies, but anyone who has a close relationship with their PS2 could do far worse than picking up this racing sim from Black Bean.
